I teach three group classes a week in Brooklyn, Wellington. I enjoy creating a supportive environment where people of all ages and levels can learn not only to move with more ease, but have fun at the same time.

Our classes this year:

Monday: 10am - 11am

Monday: 7pm - 8pm

Wednesday: 10am - 11am

Location: Vogelmorn Hall, Corner of Vennell St and Mornington Rd, Brooklyn, Wellington.

I also work individually with clients to explore movement and postural issues. My clients’ concerns have included alleviating pain, improving performance with musical instruments and improving enjoyment of everyday activities. I have a particular interest in working with people to optimise their ability to keep moving with pleasure as they age, and in the research that increasingly points to the link between exercise and brain health.

I was student in Feldenkrais classes for 10 years in Wellington before deciding to train as a practitioner. When I started attending classes it was to alleviate the physical impact of working long hours at a computer and also to explore a way to counterbalance the combined demands of the workplace and being the parent of young children. With a background in teaching at secondary and tertiary level, I became particularly interested in Moshe Feldenkrais’ ideas about how we learn. The classes provided the opportunity for me to learn about my habitual postural and movement patterns, and so to address my headaches and neck pains. The lessons also enabled me to realise that as I learnt to move more efficiently I would enjoy moving more. The realisation that as I age I can continue to increase my range of movements and therefore my enjoyment of exercise, is a great pleasure. It is also a great pleasure to work alongside others to make the same discoveries.
